The village of Killamarsh is situated in North East Derbyshire. It has fantastic views from elevated positions and looks over onto Rother Valley Country Park . With a population of just under 10,000. Killamarsh has a real community spirit and a busy town centre, which can meet all your shopping needs.
Killamarsh is located essentially the same distance to Sheffield, Chesterfield and Rotherham. It has good transport links to Chesterfield and Sheffield via the buses and the Sheffield Supertram network which has its terminus located nearby at Halfway.

Interesting Facts About Previous Village Residents
Resident Fred Greaves was the first person in Derbyshire to be awarded a Victoria Cross and was born in Killamarsh in 1890.
Some well known footballers from Killamarsh are Nicky Weaver who is a goalkeeper, having had a career with Mansfield Town,Manchester City,Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic and Richard Hinds whom has had a career with Tranmere Rovers,Hull City, Scunthorpe and now currently plays for Sheffield Wednesday.
The History Of Our Streets
Did you know that Brindley Place was named after James Brindley the builder of Chesterfield Canal which opened in 1777 and navigated through Killamarsh. Powell Drive named after the Rev'd Septimus Powell whom was the Reverend in1914.
The Parish is split into two Wards comprising of the following four areas- Netherthorpe, Westhorpe, Upperthorpe and Churchtown.
Killamarsh Parish Council
Killamarsh has two electoral wards, Killamarsh East and Killamarsh West. The Parish Council is made up of 15 Councillors - see your Councillors.
Meetings of the Parish Council are held at the Killamarsh Sports Centre on Stanley Street in the Childzone, on the first Monday of every month at 7.00pm with the exception of Bank Holidays and the month of August when there is no meeting. All meetings are open to the public and a period is set aside in each meeting for members of the public to ask questions and raise any issues.
